Description of Duties: 

The Counselor, under the direct supervision of the Program Director and Executive Director, provides direct client services for the Morongo Basin service area. Based out of the Morongo Basin office located at 58945 Business Center Drive, Suite C, Yucca Valley, CA 92284.

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • The Counselor must have a current California Drivers License and must show proof of insurance. 

  • Provide direct client services including crisis intervention, counseling, advocacy and accompaniment.

  • Conducts analysis on client assessments and surveys.

  • Assists with group counseling, support groups, and advancement treatment plans for clients.

  • Collects and inputs required statistical data on a monthly basis.

  • Assist staff with client caseload management.

  • Strong communication and writing skills.

  • Ability to work as a team.

  • Must be flexible. 

 

Education/Experience: 
  • Master’s Degree preferred.  

  • In lieu of a Master’s Degree: Bachelor’s degree in a social science or related field with 2 years of work experience.  

  • Must have the ability to work with the public.  

  • Volunteer or work experience in victims of violent crime services preferred. 

  • Must have completed the 52-hour Criminal Justice Planning Crisis Counselor training and be certified  in Rape Crisis Counseling (regardless of educational background or experience in related field) or be able to complete the training if hired.  

  • Hourly, full time position.

Pay dates are the 15th and the last day of the month.
