Black History Month is an annual celebration of achievements by African Americans and a time for recognizing their central role in U.S. history. We at SBSAS embrace this annual opportunity to focus on Black History and to glean from it what we can to help Black Survivors of sexual assault and violent crime in our community.
Today, on National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, we’d like to recognize SBSAS Board Member, Leslie Martinez. She has been a police officer with Redlands Police Department for 20 years, is currently a Detective, and has worked SVU for several years. Her collateral duties include Honor Guard Team Member, Crisis Negotiator, and Peer Support member. She works directly with Survivors and is a valued part of our organization, law enforcement, and community. Thank you for all you do Detective Martinez!
